Loved how she made us love each character, and how the mystery unfolded slowly and naturally as we changed POV throughout the book.

WOW!!  Loved this book so much!! It was even better than The Rose Code. There were tons of twists throughout, and the narrative style was incredible. Set up as a whodunnit, but you don’t know the victim, and then each chapter delves into a different resident of the house. It also gave a voice to “the house,” which was super interesting and not something I’ve ever seen done before.

I really loved the way this story unfolded, the characters’ journeys together and apart, and how relevant it is still today’s political climate.

Loved the house as a character.  Wish there was more of that.  I found Claire and Nina too similar until the end.  Didn’t appreciate the stereotypes.  Thought I would like it more that I did.  Not sure if the recipes were a fun addition or unnecessary distraction.

There were brief periods when the book slowed, but I genuinely loved this book.  I loved the characters. I loved the story. I loved the plot and the way it was set up to keep you questioning throughout who were the victims of the murders...
I've read at least one other book by Kate Quinn, possibly two, and she has a wonderful way of telling historical fiction. It always hooks me into doing more research on a time period or topic so I end up learning from my entertainment!
