For a book to take so little effort into creating the barest of backstories/exposition it shocks me that it takes ~160 pages to meander to its first full smut scene. Maybe it’s just me but this writing style reads like something a 13 year old posted on FanFiction in 2005. The characters kept repeating each other’s names and harping on the same things over and over about each other and for such “high stakes” this book is boring as hell and Hades is giving me war flashbacks to “consent king” “lord of darkness” Rhysand.
