An absolutely brilliant book about 12 year old Hazel Hill who stands up for herself and her friends against sexual harassment in school. This book is just so perfect and what I love most is that it is still very much a book for kids. It's perfectly pitched at the age range it's for and it is empowering and inspirational.

3.5 stars. A sweet middle grade book. Hazel was a little overly innocent as a character for me, so the book read even younger. I liked that she liked girls but that it was more of a side factor, similar to her liking writing or something. The book has a great ending. Was a little slow in the middle. The details about her baby brother Rowan seemed directionless and could have easily been cut.

Hazel Hill is the hero every young girl deserves. She's whip-smart, stubborn, and is not afraid to stand up for what is right.

This book was so enjoyable and so much fun to read!
Hazel Hill is such a brilliant main character because she is an amazing and inspiring young woman and also casually queer. It obviously was a part of the book and plot but it wasn't overly forced and that was simply wonderful. Especially because Hazel wasn't teased for it either, she simply was queer. Furthermore, the friends that Hazel made along the way, especially Ella Quinn. She was such a brilliant character and she really fleshed out from the beginning into someone that I didn't think she would be. And of course, Tyler was such a brilliantly written villain because I genuinely disliked him throughout the book. Him and many other characters but no spoilers!
The plot of the book was inspiring and heartwarming and I really enjoyed it. I sat and read it all in one day as I was travelling and it was so enjoyable. I really enjoyed seeing Hazel improve as a character but also see how she handled erything that was thrown at her during the course of the book. I fully know that this is going to inspire and help a whole new generation of young girls to not only stand up for what is right but to be themselves unapologetically. Plus the ending was so sweet and made me so happy after the end of the struggle that they went through.
The writing was simply so easy to read and I loved it all so much! This is truly something that I wil recommend wholeheartedly to younger readers as well as people my age because it is something so fun for all ages to read!
The publishers kindly sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
