A bit melancholy. And I don't dislike that. Enjoyable storytelling.
An amazing set of little gems; chapters, individuals vignettes of sharply drawn characters and situations that make you to want to slap some of the people and hug the others. All of these are woven into one story about an international paper set in Rome. It surpassed my expectations in every way.
The book is intriguing but I felt ultimately that the structure, though unique, took away from its impact.
Quirky, funny, sad, frustrating, awkward, surprising. A very compelling read.
This is in my top ten books. Well written a wealth of great characters and each story is better than the last. Read it!
