The relationship between Dunk and Egg was really fun to read, however the plot was only relatively enjoyable. Also all the targaryens have such similar names it will never not be confusing.

اثری بسیار جالب و باحال و خوب از جرج مارتین. به عنوان اولین کتاب فانتزی خوندم. کتاب های نغمه یخ و آتش رو نخوندم ولی سریال گیم اف ترونز رو دیدم، با اینحال شوالیه هفت اقلیم حتی نزدیک به گیم اف ترونز نبود. دو فصل اول رو از روی کتاب خوندم ولی متاسفانه به دلیل وجود کلمات سنگین و قدیمی تاریخی، که البته با فضای داستان جور درمیومد نتونستم ادامه بدم و فصل سوم رو صوتی گوش دادم و الان میگم که ایکاش همش رو صوتی گوش میدادم چون واقعا جذاب بود. از فیدیبو با صدای مهیار ستاری گوش دادم.

اگه بخوام به ترتیب بگم، داستان سوم >اول>دوم خوب بودن.

داستان اول با شخصیت اگ آشنا میشیم و واقعه تو یه نبرد نیزه در اشفورد اتفاق میوفته. دانک به شاهزاده تارگرینی بی احترامی میکنه و باید در برابر خدایان جنگ کنند و طرق خواست اون ها مجرم کشته میشه. ولی خب یه اتفاق هایی افتاد که، نبرد اونطور که باید پیش نرفت. داستان دوم بیشتر با شخصیت و کاراکتر دانک آشنا میشیم، داستان در شهری اتفاق میوفته که خشکسالی اومده و دو لرد میخوان اب رودخونه رو باهم سهیم بشن ولی مشکلاتی بین شون پیش میاد. یکی بیوه قرمز و دیگری سر یوستاس پیر، ولی خب به صورت کاملا هندی طور، در نهایت باهم ازدواج میکنن. داستان سوم هم در وایت والز، جایی در شمال وستروس اتفاق میوفته. منطقه ای که شورشگران اژدهای سیاه، سعی میکنن دوباره شورش بلک فایر رو اجرا کنن. این داستان پر از سورپرایز بود و لذت بخش.

در کل تو این سه داستان، وستروس رو از دید دو ادم نسبتا معمولی نگاه میکردیم( حالا گفتم نسبتا، چون نمیخوام اسپویل کنم). این ویژگی جالب بود. مثلا تو گیم اف ترونز همه شخصیت اصلی هستند. قلم مارتین هم زیبا بود. طوری که با توضیحاتش قشنگ میشد کاراکتر مورد نظر رو تصور کرد. خط داستانی کتاب آنچنان قوی نبود ولی خب ارزش خوندن رو صددرصد داشت، مخصوصا برای طرفداران این مجموعه

As one who took a week to read each of the books in A Song of Ice and Fire, it shouldn't have surprised me that it only took me a single day to finish this one, but considering I haven't pulled such a feat since high school, I was. This is really good guys, though that was given considering the author, but I think what I liked best about this book was the character Dunk, or Sir Duncan the Tall. He's incredibly relatable, a young man trying to do the right thing in a world he's only beginning to understand. He's funny, awkward (especially around girls), brave, and smart in his own way, even if he doesn't think so. His squire, Egg (a nickname, but what for is a spoiler), is equally entertaining in his own way. As much as I like ASOIAF, I think it sometimes suffers from the many perspectives within it and having to jump between them. This book has Dunk as the only narrator, and has a great deal less characters overall than the main series, which helps keep it from feeling disjointed like the main series can get sometimes (jumping from King's Landing, to the Wall, and to Essos and back can be exhausting). Dunk's story features him and Egg, along with a handful of other knights, as well as lords and the occasional prince, a much smaller cast in comparison to the main series, but it feels right considering the length of the stories. Just about every named character contributes something to the story, but there aren't so many that you start forgetting who people are.
For those looking to satisfy their appetite for the land of Westeros while waiting for The Winds of Winter, this book is an excellent option and I would highly recommend it.
