Really liked this! It's more lighthearted than the asoiaf series, but definitely still has some tragedy/violence. For some reason I find descriptions of jousting and tournaments extremely entertaining to read, so this book was exactly what I needed. The illustrations were also a nice touch.

Wholesome, fun, and a refreshing change from all the nonfiction I’ve been reading. Dunk and Egg are lovable, and their adventures are a joy to follow. I just wish it were longer—a character list or family tree would’ve helped with all the names.

As someone who found a song of ice and fire too dark, this was a wonderful way to experience GRRM’s story telling and world without taking on the full thing. Fun read with great depth for three ~100 page stories

I've had this book on my bookshelf for some time now after buying it for my husband 2 christmases ago. I seem to be very much in a GRRM frenzy just now so I thought I would take a break from A song of ice and fire series and read something a bit lighter so why not read a little of dunk and egg?

This book is a collection of three short stories, also set in the seven kingdoms, 100 years before A game of Thrones.

Characters are Dunk and Egg (you will find out in the story the significance of his curious name) who travel the seven kingdoms together, as squire and knight.

This was a nice little change and enjoyed the writing (as usual for GRRM) and look forward to reading more perhaps in the future of Dunk and Egg

4 Stars.

I decided to read this while we're all waiting for Winds of Winter. I had finished A Dance of Dragons more than a year ago, and goodness, I really missed Martin's writing style. Few authors make me feel warm. I love how Martin just pulls you into his world. I oftentimes found myself lost, not wanting to get out into reality. I love Dunk and Egg's cute little relationship. Definitely a big brother/little brother duo. If Martin never finishes Winds of Winter, I want him to at least continue writing about Dunk and Egg.
