A simple review:
The one negative I have is that it ended and there’s more to the story and GRRM isn’t even done with Winds of Winter so who knows when we’ll get the rest of Dunc and eggs adventures. It was nice to have a low stress story in Westeros but still be continuously engaged and at the edge of my seat with every word. Egg is hilarious and brave. Dunc wants to be great knight for a house. I loved the detailed look into daily life in Westeros, it looks ROUGH…100% would not live there. But yea, this was great, and I’m looking forward to the show adaptation.

Definitely more in line with the age group targeted by the Prydain series ([b:The Book of Three|24780|The Book of Three (The Chronicles of Prydain #1)|Lloyd Alexander|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1405184012s/24780.jpg|1149593], [b:The Black Cauldron|24784|The Black Cauldron (The Chronicles of Prydain #2)|Lloyd Alexander|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1405377996s/24784.jpg|1122077], etc.) than I imagine the books in [b:A Song of Ice and Fire|9814682|A Song of Ice and Fire (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1-4)|George R.R. Martin|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328046798s/9814682.jpg|21619517] would be (haven't read them yet, but have watched the series).
I really enjoyed reading about the adventures of Dunk and Egg. =) Once in a while it was hard to get all the side characters straight, but the storyline doesn't hinge on it so in general you could just push through.
My mother-in-law was telling me that twenty years ago, there really weren't many good books for upper-elementary-school-aged boys. I think this book would definitely fit in that category, along with [a:Lloyd Alexander|8924|Lloyd Alexander|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1353430382p2/8924.jpg]'s Prydain series. It has sufficient action and adventure, is fun to read, and not too long. But what do I know? Maybe that's not what young boys are interested in reading about. However, with the strong tie into "Game of Thrones" I believe younger children would be excited and interested to be reading something their parents/older siblings are interested in, without being subjected to R-rated material.

dunk the lunk thick as a castle wall aka the boyfailure blueprint. (this might be my favorite thing ever i love them so bad it’s embarrassing)

SO GOOD!!! it was a little hard to get into because there was less magic but so worth it
کتابی که داستان صد سال قبل از کتاب های اصلی رو روایت میکنه. مارتین دنیایی رو چنان کامل خلق کرده که میشه از صد سال قبلشم چنین داستان بی نظیری ساخت. کتاب های اصلی از دید سیاست مدار ها و شاهزاده ها روایت میشه ولی این کتاب از دید یه شوالیه آواره که جز هیکلش و البته شرافتش ویژگی خاص دیگه ای نداره.
از ذره به ذره کتاب لذت بردم ولی بخش آخر کتاب یه چیز دیگه ای بود. بی صبرانه منتظر کتاب های بعدی از این نابغه هستم
