Very quick read. Reads like the skeleton of a detective story, a book more interested in creating a puzzle than an emotional journey. Pretty engaging.. Written in a very sparse, stark style for most of it but could've done with more of an emotional POV character.
Would only recommend if you like puzzles and read mysteries for the thrill of potentially solving one. Not my cup of tea, to be honest. Good book though.

As usual, I didn't work out the ending. I'm a little unsatisfied with the end, but we can't have it all.
It took a LOT of pushing through the first chapter of the book. The students were so annoying and pretentious, to the point where it made me think of If We Were Villains andI hoped for most of their deaths .
After that, I did really enjoy trying to work out the mystery and I've even stayed up late, despite being on call tomorrow. Ah, the commitment!

An enjoyable mystery novel that throws in a sprinkle of supernatural elements and betrayal that is satisfying. No, I was not trying to guess who the murder was and that is what I liked about this book, the characters try and solve the mystery for you instead! Interesting collection of characters thrown together and all inspired by Agatha Christie (who's books I have not read)!
Recommend if you want something to get you out of a reading slump or to try something a bit different.

It's a Japanese homage to Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. I enjoyed it very much! There are two subplots; one on an island and one on the mainland. The rest of my thoughts are spoilers so read at your own risk.
I also enjoyed that he got away with it!

I did not feel cheated to find that one character was in both plots. The alias of Vin was Matsui's real name. This trick only works because you don't get to see his face. The aliases of the Murder Mystery club felt natural.I also enjoyed that he got away with it!
