this is def middle grade, i went into it thinking it was YA. the twist at the end was very obvious and poorly done by adding elements that were not alluded to and seemed impossible based on prior events in the story.

I don't really know why I read this book and have decided to actually stop reading anything by this author. All of the books just have the weirdest pacing. This book also had a really bad ending. The first 350 pages were ok, not good but also not all that bad and the only reason this book doesn't have 1 star in my opinion. The ending though was bad. It was just not done right at all. Other books can do the whole big reveal at the end but this one was just plain bad and out of place. I really wouldn't recommend reading this book, it just isn't worth the time.

Though no work of art, I enjoyed it enough. First half was better than the 2nd half. It got a little cheesy towards the end, but I was here for some cheese soooo. /shrug
