The highly anticipated finale of the Montana Mountain Man series and I’m in LOVEEEE with Cody! In true Gemma fashion she delivered us an over the top, alpha-hole mountain man!

What to expect:

♥️ Over the top alpha
♥️ Filthy mouth Hero
♥️ Strong independent heroine
♥️ HEA

Cody is the last of his brothers to find his “match”. If you haven’t been following along the Barnett men all fall head over heels for their women and turn in to possessive cavemen the moment they meet them.

Betty has found her long lost sister whom also happens to be Cody’s sister in law, which makes things a little complicated for her when Cody says “you’re mine”. There are some twists that I did not see coming and Cody was NOTHING like I expected him to be, but in the best way! I loved how Betty was so relatable and Cody loved EVERY. SINGLE. PART. of her ♥️

This book was just....not as good as the others. It felt rushed and Betty felt vapid and shallow. And Cody seemed like an entirely different character after reading the other books in the series.

I was really hoping this one would also have some diversity aside from Betty having a few tattoos. Every single fmc was white, under 25 and thin. This book hints at Betty being bigger but not beyond saying she's curvy and doesn't have a flat stomach.

Honestly this one is only getting 2 stars because it's as steamy as the rest and because I loved Suede and Johnny.

All these books are essentially the same: red flag riddled caveman instantly falls in love with a younger woman and then proceeds to do everything that a real-life woman would hate. They are somehow enjoyable even though they are terribly written and have all kinds of editing issues (although the editing seemed to get better farther into the series.) Would I recommend them, no. Did I finish the series...yes. They were easy and brainless and they satisfied some reading need I had at the time. Even though I won't be re-reading these, they will definitely be some great conversation starters with other romance book enthusiasts.
