Bride is a book about Misery and Lowe. The further into the book I got, the more enjoyable it was. I love how creative Ali gets with comebacks - especially in this book. The very last page gave me butterflies and a massive grin and I will definitely reread it in the future. It is a new take on the Vampire-Were trope, made in Ali-style.
Misery is the typical naive girl. You’ll definitely notice that as you read and be like «Girl, see what is right in front of you please», you join her on a journey of friendship, belonging, feelings, different relationships, betrayals and finding finding who you are meant to be. I loved the character building and how the friendships developed through the book. It was a ride of emotions. Many different emotions.
It is a great read for those wanting a new fantasy adventure with a little mystery, character development/building and a little bit of spice.

Vampyres and Werewolves are not friends, to put it lightly. Their latest plot to keep the peace is to marry off Misery Lark, daughter of the highest ranking Vampyre, to the Alpha of the Werewolves, Lore Moreland.
This is Ali Hazelwood's first (and hopefully not last) bite at fantasy and it's not one to miss. As with her contemporary books, her characters are ready to walk off the page and hang out with you (or chase you, depending). In this world Misery's was hiding among the humans before she got roped back into Vampyre drama. But this isn't her first time putting her neck out for the other Vampyres, not that they would appreciate it.
Full of snarky banter and loveable characters, get ready to get swept up in Bride and all the secrets these Vampires, Werewolves and even some humans are hiding.
This was written as a standalone but I would definitely enjoy more stories in this world.
As with her other books there's definitely some spice in this one. While I'm not the biggest fan of spice, I think it is woven well into the story.

The enemies to lovers falls flat and there is absolutely no tension.
A nice idea but incredibly poor execution.
Misery is a stupid name.
