Thoroughly enjoyed Sabrina’s, Adam’s and Marcia’s story. It’s funny, cozy and has just the touch of depth that makes you relate to the main characters. It’s not often I read about older people  being part of the main plot of romance novels, but I loved getting to see Sabrina’s and Marcia’s bond through being roommates. Gives my heart a little pinch of joy how much they both adored and enjoyed each other’s company.

Adding the tension between Sabrina and Adam is just chefs kiss. Those little encounters in the apartment and library; he’s literally the perfect book boyfriend.

I want to thank NetGalley, Forever(Grand Central Publishing and Meredith Schorr for letting me get to know Sabrina, Adam’s & Marcia’s story.

So sweet, so lovely, so utterly un-put-down-able! I have a hard time sometimes focusing with paperbacks, since I’m so used to e-reading. That was not the case here - I absolutely inhaled this book in a single evening.

Sabrina’s life is pretty good in NYC, though she’s pretty broke. She is in school in the MSLIS program, working at the local library, has fantastic friends, and her roommate, 70 year old Marcia, is one of her besties and a surrogate grandmother.

Her carefully balanced life is about to become slightly chaotic, thanks to Marcia’s grandson, Adam, coming to stay with them for an unspecified amount of time. From first glance, the chemistry is instant…but this is a bad idea, right?

Roommating was a love letter to libraries, librarians, and beloved books. Sabrina and Adam really clicked so well together and their little moments together were so fun to read. There’s family issues - on both ends - and I loved that both Sabrina and Adam stayed true to themselves throughout. I highly recommend this to folks that love a sweet, slightly spicy read featuring forced proximity, instant chemistry, and pop culture references!
I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.

DID NOT FINISH: 26%

At 26% there’s no real plot. Too many pop culture references and felt so YA.

I adored this. Sabrina, Adam, and Marcia were all so lovable and I loved the pacing of Adam and Sabrina’s relationship. This is a love letter to libraries, grandmas, and Jewish joy. I hope Meredith writes Carley a book next so that we can get even more of these 3 characters.

I felt like I kept getting pulled out of the story by the unnecessary over-descriptions of every day things. I don't need to know what every floor was made of or what every article of clothing looks like. I don't need a thousand name drops of books and shows and authors just because she works at the library. It felt like the author needed to hit a word count and just started adding in basic adjectives every where. It didn't feel like emotional writing, just words. I really like the idea of the plot and the characters involved but I didn't feel like I was getting any actual feelings, just being told them.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC.

This book has everything: hot librarian(s), a small hurricane in dog form, a vivacious septuagenarian, boundary issues.

Sabrina and Marcia are SO perfectly matched as roommates and as friends - they bring the best parts out of each other and keep each other bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Adam, of course, is a welcome addition to their cozy little home - until he (through no fault of his own even though she has done nothing wrong) is suspicious of Sabrina’s intentions with his grandma. And Sabrina’s determination to ice him out is so swift and forceful (and awkward) that I was forced to look at my own reflection and admit that she and I have a lot in common.

There are so many different dynamics at play in this book - the push and pull of Sabrina and Adam’s rivalry-turned-affection-turned-rivalry-again, the wild affection they both feel for Marcia and the parallels of that to each of their complex relationships with their parents. Their determination to make things work for themselves despite constant roadblocks and obstacles - some of which are each other. And some of which (even more of which?) are themselves.

But that’s why we need other people around us; to help us over - or around - the hurdles.

First of all, this book was CUTE! I loved this book from Sabrina’s POV, but I also think it would be so much fun through Marcia  (her elderly roommate). Marcia is a hoot and a holler! I loved her and I want more Marcia lol. But… Marcia is not the only roommate that the title is alluding to. Marcia’s hot grandson, Adam, needs a place to stay for a little while and oh boy does that mix up the plot!

I just had a really fun time reading this book! The family relationships felt real, the internal dilemmas were hitting hard, and the characters were easy to connect to. And we LOVE a librarian main character.

✨This ARC was provided by Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.✨

This was really cute. I liked them together and it was cute how much they liked books. On that note though this did not need so many name drops of books, I get it, she's a librarian, but naming so many books would temporarily take me out of the book. Marcia was fun and I like how she was secretly rooting for the two of them to get together. I also didn't think the love confession at the end was earned. The book should have been a little longer with the two of them together for a while for that to be believable.

I received an arc through netgalley.

Whenever there is a relationship between a younger FMC with an older character, I always love to see the dynamics. We have Sabrina renting a room from Marcia and helps her with technology and other things. Their friendship is so special and I love how strong it was.

Things are all fine until, Adam, Marcia's grandson stays temporarily with them. He is reconnecting with her as they lost touch the last 10 years. I loved how they both instantly connected and didn't miss a beat.

The ode to love of books was a fun touch between Adam and Sabrina. I love the slow burn between the two and how they resisted each other.

This was such an entertaining forced proximity romance. Thank you @readforeverpub for a copy of the book.
