Well, this was a very ambitious book. The author seems to have had two or three novels in mind and he decided to make them all into one book. The first 3/4 of the book is a standard spy book, full of far-fetched ideas and a hero who literally knows everything about everything. And I mean he puts James Bond to shame. But then the last 1/4 book becomes a sci-fi story and while the author keeps the same hero and the same villain, it's as if he just tacked it on there at the end because it wasn't long enough to make into a separate book.
I did enjoy it; it was action-packed, but you REALLY have to suspend belief because I literally snorted/ laughed out loud at some of the over-the-top prose.

I struggled towards the end, the science-fiction part is not my thing. To strange, to bizarre, not for me.
I was really disappointed that I didn’t love this - having loved I am Pilgrim I was so excited for this and a lot of it was good - well written, gripping and full of tension with an overly confident and arrogant narrator. However as per other reviews the turn it took in the final third of the book was so entirely ludicrous that it spoiled the whole thing. Gutted.

A major disappointment, veering from decent spy thriller to mediocre sci-fi.
Life’s too short. I didn’t finish it.

Although I had a couple “wtf / yeah right” moments, I couldn’t put it down. Devoured the last 200 pages in 1 night.
