God...what to say. I love Pen and I will always love Pen. Did this make my heart sing because I love Will so much? Yes. Did this also make my head hurt because of the twists and turns and lore and little anecdotes to remember? Yes. But do I still love it anyways? Yes.
This series was a lot, it had some mature themes that you don't always see in romance (abuse, addiction, various crime, etc). Maybe it took things too far, but maybe it didn't take things far enough. These themes in this book and the rest of the series reflect the realities of life, none of us live in fairytales, and all of us have gone through something. Even if we live in houses with white picket fences, our biggest threats can be within those walls. This book teaches that, but it also teaches us resilience in how we overcome the past. The Horsemen and their spouses went through it, but they crossed the other side, and they did it together. So I'll love this book and series always - because it calls to the wild and damaged sides in all of us, and shows us how to make it through.

Such a good novella that brings all 4 books into one!!! I need a children’s spin off immediately.
Firstly; I love and adore Will so much but no one will ever convince me Emory was good for him. She sucks and he deserves better. I don't hate her as much as Rika, but it's not far off. Honestly, as much as I like Winter, I feel like we were robbed of not having Will and Damon together, like come on man!
Secondly; does everyone in this series just love watching each other have sex? And enjoy threesomes? And like fucking in the same room another couple is already fucking in? Like honestly what on earth is going on? I can't believe everyone in this friend group all managed to find partners who enjoy this lol it's so unbelievable. I get this is fiction but man... It was too much. It wasn't even done in a good way and didn't add anything to the story/plot. It was just fucking weird.
I'm so in 2 minds about this (the whole series tbh) cause like... I did enjoy it for the most part. But at the same time, some of it was so damn cringey and the way they all thought they were the fucking mafia or something... Bloody Rika acting like she's the fucking queen and every guy in the group is wrapped around her little finger and what she says goes... Ugh please. And of course her and Michael decide to just adopt some random girl they find one night, and then it turns her being infertile isn't actually true and she ends up becoming pregnant after all
