Book #7 of vacation
No spice, kind of steamy in parts
This was the final novella in the Devil’s Night series, and I don’t think it was entirely necessary. It takes places years after the 4th novel. She mentions everyone’s children but throws names around as if we know who everyone is. I had to google a family tree to understand what was happening and referenced it several times.
After a bit of searching I found that Douglas has no plans to write any books for the children, but she did kind of leave this open ended. So if that’s not your jam I suggest you skip this one.

This novella was everything I needed to end this story. The kids are running around, and it sounds like it might be a setup for future books about the kids. I can only hope.

this whole series made me lose 3 braincells, my dignity and my trust in humanity. but at least I can say I finished it
“We created our life here. One life. One chance. “No one stops us,” she whispered. “No one owns us.” I held her tight. “And we’re not changing.”
This novella was not all cute and sweet and conflict free but I absolutely loved it. A glimpse into the future and where our favorite devils are and now there children as well. I am especially drawn to Mads and Octavia. While Pen Doug has said she has no immediate plans for a next gen my heart truly hopes that shifts at some point. I never want to leave this world and she has set up what could be such an epic and exciting...and of course toxic next generation of devils.
“The chords of the heart need to be touched to be played...No one is immune to emotion when those chords are pulled. No one.”
