4 & 4.5 were the best two books in the series. I think some authors struggling to find their foot in on the beginning is a series. I love how some come out truly good at the end.
The one thing I felt most about this series was that the first 3 books were too long and kinna boring . The last 3 were actually good but not long enough and didn’t go into as much detail. I felt if this was the last book she could have done a little better to kinna pull the points together.
Madz has some kind of secret I guess but it goes to close without any real clue to what it is. I guess I wanted a little love of that story with him or the kids.
Even the part with the Collins family. I just felt some words were useless and it could have dove better into the details to really make the series good.

Quick holiday read with drama and murder because it’s Thunder Bay.
3.75-4 ⭐️… idk I loved and hated it at the same time
The beginning and end of the book was really good, and I loved that will was the one who put in effort for Emmy. They had really good history, but Emmy was very childish and rude at times. I get that she had a terrible home life and felt alone, but the way she pushed will away and said some terribleeee things is crazy. I mean will was obsessed for 4 years… I don’t think it’s just as a joke and all he wanted was for her to open up. I did like that will realized Emmy really just needed a friend in high school, and apologized for not just being there for her but really Emmy handled it terribly and just pushed him away. She tried to blame will for not giving her an option, but she could’ve been honest with him and told him she only wanted to be friends for the moment.
Emmy and will were also very back and forth which I didn’t like. Emmy would finally be ready to open up and be with will but then he’d be pissed and destructive then. Most of it was will pining though and Emmy being an absolute betch. They really just needed to be strapped to chairs and left until they talked it out and figured their shit out.
I loved seeing the other characters and seeing Will grow and mature! I’m still obsessed with Damon and winter! I also liked the new supporting characters and that Alex found her love although it was a little awkward when aydin was making Alex say wills name when will and Emmy were with them in the shower. It was also surprising when Alex and emmy had their moment on the train… wasn’t bad but also why? Not sure but I wish will was just more possessive and it didn’t really fit Emmy’s character. I get doing things out of character was her goal but like she could’ve done soooo many other things.
Seeing all the bad guys esp Michaels dad and Martin, Emmy’s brother, go down was too good! I’m glad we got to see the fam making themselves safe. Will and his grandpa are the cutest + all the kids
