I can't believe I didn't know that the fourth and fifth book were already out?!?! Man, I suck.

It's safe to say that I'm disappointed in myself for not diving into Royal Mate back in March but at least I did that now? Eh. Still disappointed in myself. Since I read the last book about 3 months ago, I'll admit that something was off while reading this one. I just wasn't that invested in the characters or anything. Which, yes, is completely weird since I was pretty obsessed with the first three books.

I just think the whole waiting 3 months thing killed my vibe. It was still interesting and the romance was there.. but the drama was annoying. Sometimes it works with RH books and other times I just want to strangle people randomly. I'm also sure I didn't know how I felt about a new potential mate being introduced this late in the series and after reading this I'm still not sure how I feel.

Maybe things will click once again with me and everything else in the next book but I'm not going to have high expectations. I just don't want to end up disappointed in anything but I hope things work out in the end nonetheless.

Maybe I'll take a shot before diving into the next one. Maybe.

Unexpected turns and more secrets to reveal

Talia, as always, finds herself in another precarious position. But she faces it as she usually does - with poise and compassion. She is the key to change but not just due to her blood, I would argue that her ability to bring about change in individuals and with the honesty, care and honor in which she does is the true key of her gift. Great read as always!
