Boredom!! This was such a important time in our history but here we have these boring people without any personality with very predictable events.

Being my first dive into da Hilderbrand universe my expectations were unfairly high. This month’s @bullybookclub pick was The Summer of 69’. It is a multi-perspective telling of a family’s summer of 1969. It hits the summer itch with a historical fiction vibe. This novel addresses the historical context of the era in a fun way personal to all of the characters.

However, for some reason it just didn’t quite resonate with us and we had trouble finding the characters relatable. It was by no means difficult to get through I just didn’t enjoy it as much as anticipated!

This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for us, but looking forward to trying some of her other novels!

Easy, breezy summer read. I enjoyed this one.

I liked this book and all the characters. It wasn't one that I couldn't put down but it was a good summer read with a solid storyline.
