3 1/2 stars This was my first Elin Hilderbrand book. I heard good things about her books and this one just fell short for me. Maybe it’s the least popular one and I’ll like the next one I read better.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF

There is no plot which is the plot which is stupid IMO. Nothing happens? It is boring?

Not my typical read but enjoyed the 2nd half of the book.

A good book with very likable characters and storylines that I wanted to see through to the end. Definitely an easy summer read, but not a favorite.

Always love her books! Makes me feel like it is summer and time for the beach!

I was skeptical when I started reading this book. It took me some time to warm up to the characters. It was pleasantly surprising to read about America in 1969 and see how much we’ve changed but how much it feels the same. The story lines are woven together so magically I eventually got lost in the characters and felt like I knew them personally. I miss them and I catch myself wondering what they’re up to. The daily life of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard were great touches to a beautiful summer story.

Elin Hilderbrand doesn't disappoint in this perfect-for-summer read. This book was a well done "coming of age" story which took place in the midst of the Vietnam War.

I ended up liking this book more than I thought I would but not really until the end. It was easy and quick to read but didn’t hold my interest when I wasn’t reading it so I only picked it up a few times.
