Warning: Spoilers for the first book
The Carls are gone and April is dead - but then Andy recieves "The Book of Good Times" what's written in there suggests that April is still alive... Meanwhile Peter Petrawicki (the former leader of the Defenders) founded a company named Altus which recreates the Dream.
It's a great book, but I liked AART better. I felt more invested in the fight between groups of people in the first book, than in the fight between aliens Also I wish I could have learned a bit more about Bex or Rob of whom we only got a tiny glimpse compared to the main characters.

I love this book so much.
I'm going to have to re-read An Absolutely Remarkable Thing and then read this again so I can put all the pieces together from the beginning, because this story has so many intricate moving parts that it's not possible to get it all in one reading.
I love the message of this book (it's so damned QUOTABLE), I love the writing style, I loved how the characters were so human (except for the ones that weren't), and that the stakes were actually high. The ending was a beautiful bow on the whole story and I can't think of a better way to have wrapped everything up.
This has become another favourite and you should absolutely go get yourself a copy. I can't wait for his next book.
