This has to be one of my most favourite books! I love Pusheen and kawaii characters and though most of the comics in the book are online as well, I think it’s so satisfying and lovely to have them in book form and see them on a page. The comics are light hearted, funny, colourful and beautifully printed. The first book in this series was I Am Pusheen The Cat, which had lots of funny comics about Pusheen’s life as a normal kawaii cat, whereas this book has more comics of that theme but also comics about Pusheen’s incarnations as different fantasy characters, e.g. Pusheenicorn, Mermaid Pusheen, Dinosheen, Dragonsheen etc. Pusheen keeps her trademark cuteness and humor as she explores being each character. This book should be part of every kawaii fan’s self-care kit because it’s such a great thing to read when you’re sad or tired. It’s also wonderful for practicing drawing from if you’re an arty person. The only downside is that despite the book being a sizeable thickness, the fact that it’s lots of short comics means it’s over too quickly!

OF COURSE the first book of the year I finish would be a Pusheen book! Perhaps this is a bit of a bias, because I am a huge Pusheen fan, but I love the cute imaginative turn this book takes showing Pusheen's make-believe side and all the recognizable adventures Pusheen gets into that I've seen in the Facebook clubs. Also got a peek at cute little Stormy and a glimpse at Pip!

I recently added this book to my collection and read it right away! Just as cute and funny as the first book and I loved it just as much!

The Many Lives of Pusheen the Cat is a cute illustrated collection dedicated to everyone's favorite internet sensation, Pusheen. Due out 16th March 2021 from Simon & Schuster on their Gallery imprint, it's 192 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.

This is exactly as described; a collection of color pages of Pusheen and friends in hundreds of poses with short, often humorous descriptions of a few words. The cartoons are from one to multiple panels and contain Pusheen in different guises and with different settings.

The chapters are arranged around Pusheen's different incarnations: Pusheen, Pusheenicorn, Super Pusheenicorn, Mermaid Pusheen, Dinosheen (& Pusheenosaurus), Pastel Pusheen, Dragonsheen, Detective Pusheen, and Pugsheen. The collection includes an absurd abundance of Pusheen doing adorable stuff.

Four stars. This would make a great public or classroom library acquisition, gift for a Pusheen fan, or potentially nice choice (bundled with drawing supplies?) for a young artist. Lots of fun. I've never met anyone who doesn't love Pusheen.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

The Many Lives of Pusheen the Cat by Claire Belton was a very simple and lighthearted comic gift book for all Pusheen fans and cat-lovers, though I can't say I would recommend it to anyone else. The art is real cute, but there simply wasn't much substance, humorous or otherwise. Perhaps I went in with the wrong expectations, but this was just kind of a "meh" read for me.
