This book was great from the start. I listened to it on audio book and the performance Craig Wasson gave was phenomenal! The story is about the Kennedy assassination and Jake Epping's voyage to the past to try and alter history. It's a bit out of Stephen King's normal horror genre, but I feel that he did a great job in writing this. I would definitely recommend this to others.

I personally can't really recommend this one, because there was WAY too much sex in it. Too many explicit pages to skip over. Also alot of cussing and violence. BUT the story was fascinating, which was why I didn't just put it down - I got sucked in. I thought the ending was perfect and fit the rest of the book. If you don't want to bother with skipping a ton of sex scenes though, I'd say just skip it altogether. I am glad I read it because I have always heard Stephen King was a great author, but I wasn't about to read a horror book. Now I know what his books are like (sort of, since I guess this isn't his typical fare).

I am an emotional mess. I finished this book while babysitting and ended up crying, which became awkward when the parents came home.

The Good:
I've fallen in love with Stephen King and his writing. There is something so captivating about it. After reading Under The Dome and falling in love with that, I decided to go for something not as gory as his most popular books for my second go-around. 11/22/63 did not disappoint. It was fast paced, intricate, gripping, and heartfelt.

The characters were all so real and believable. Never once did I think, "No. Nobody would ever do that." And the plot. Boy, oh, boy, the plot would have been thrilling if it had just been Jake and his mission. Adding so many other characters and deep relationships to the plot really amped up the suspense. I was quite literally on the edge of my seat sometimes.

The Bad but Not-So Bad:
A good three or four hundred pages easily could have been chopped out of the book. There was a tedious amount of down time where barely anything happened. This added to the suspense as it made the mission more complicated but sometimes it felt a bit much. At the same time, if those three or four hundred pages had been cut, the story would have lost a lot of the heart that made it so wonderful.

If you want a Stephen King novel with minimal violence and language, this is the book for you. If you want a Stephen King novel with a lot of heart and warm-ish feelings, this is also the book for you. Basically, if you are a human being who likes to read, this is the book for you.
