I remember I tried reading this in high school and it just went over my head. I’m glad I revisited it as an adult as the mythologies that this expands upon within Christianity are fascinating and make great stories!

This book changed my life; not only for its astounding poetic construction but because in reading it much of the religious history I have been exposed to was reframed and grounded by this most influential text. Milton truly reinvented the wheel with Paradise Lost and I would recommend every single line of it to anyone looking for an incredible read.

One of the greatest fan fictions I’ve ever read tbh

Side note - how does a book about the origins of Christianity make me identify with ol’ Lucifer more? Second only to the original.
