This book was a fascinating read. I’ve never read something like this. I loved that it was in first person, it felt like I was in her mind.

Victorian Psycho is a gross, horrifying twist on the new governess in a creepy house. I really enjoyed the start, but it got just a bit too predictable. The descriptions of food and murder did work to help keep the book "fresh" even when most of what was described was rot.

A quick and dark read perfect for when there's been too many light and fluffy books, but not a book for the faint of heart or one I would widely recommend.

Simply put: What. The. FUCK!

This book was bizarre from beginning to end. Unhinged character, unhinged writing, unhinged plot.

Winifred Notty is a governess who has recently taken up a post at the Pounds' Residence at Ensor House. There her Darkness quickly unfurls as her distaste of her employers grows.

I honestly don't really know what to say about this book. Did I enjoy it? Enjoy is a strong word. It had good pacing, violent and gory. Strange. But enjoy? No. I didn't hate it either. I am glad people encouraged me to keep going so we can all revel in the weirdness together!

This book is consistently visceral in the grossest way.

It’s also hilarious and pokes fun, primarily at Jane Eyre, but also Victorian fiction and Victorian society in general.

It’s a weird book, but I think it’s my kind of weird, and I’m definitely glad I read it.

The main character is highly unlikeable, but I supposed that makes sense as she is a psychopathic serial killer. I’ve seen criminal minds, I know when an unsub is devolving, and Winifred definitely devolves… The writing was good, though! And it had a few twists I didn’t see coming and some humorous moments! Overall, it was pretty disturbing though.
