For some reason I didn't realize this was a sequel, but it was phenomenal. Loved it.

Great news, folks: This was a short read that I actually enjoyed! I didn't have big expectations, and maybe that's how I should be going into every read because this was just a fun morning read that I would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys retold/reimagined fairy tales, queer romance, adventures, hijinks, and questioning fate. Overall, this was a nice follow-up to "A Spindle Splintered," and I'm glad I borrowed the ebook ASAP.

DNF @ Page 10 - Chapter 1
Look I gave the first book in this series 2.5 stars, very creative, but I hated the narrative and tone, so I probably wasn't going to like this. What made me not even want to keep reading, was that as a Latine individual, wtf was going on in the first chapter??? It felt extremely fetishizing to me and forced "diversity" in my humble opinion. I didn't feel represented at all, and it felt so of-putting as it didn't feel like the Spanish words or the poor attempt at "Latine" culture did anything for me at all. I think it's best for white authors to just write white characters, rather than attempt to do diversity and do it poorly. I also don't understand people who want white authors to write more diversly rather than just picking up a book by an actual BIPOC author and/or to demand publishing to actually publish books from BIPOC authors. I wasn't expecting to rant about this, but gosh what a waste of time and money this freaking small book series was.

I loved this!! The story arc was so great, and I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook. I loved Zin even more in this, and I'm so happy for the characters. Charm and Prim are just absolutely adorable!!
Also, the queer rep was so sweet and I just had so much fun :)
