This was a nice twist on the classic vampire tales. Instead of focusing on the vampires themselves, the focus of this series is the human servant, the Day Man, who takes care of the vampire family's business when the sun is shining. Very convoluted. I look forward to volume two.

2.5 - 3.

This just didn't grab me like I thought it would.
It ended abruptly, the actual plot started too late, far too many similar characters were introduced at once alongside the world's politics - it felt like too much crammed in at once. I'll pick up the next volume at some point because I really liked the set up for the continuation of the story.

I don't know why no one talks about this book. It is one of the best books I've read from Image Comics. Brian Stelfreeze is the best.

I have a soft spot for vampire stories although I am generally not impressed with current offerings. There has been very little innovation within the genre for the last few decades and I had begun to think it had gone stale. Then I came across volumes 1 & 2 of Day Men and my mind was blown. There is more creative and innovative material in these eight issues than I have seen in many years.

Utterly brilliant. Took far too long for each issue to come out! If you like intrigue, vampires, and a new take on the genre, get this.
