I picked this up thinking it was going to be a fluffy, light-hearted read. I was pleasantly surprised that it had much more depth than I expected. I really enjoyed all of these characters and their journey.

I honestly couldn't stomach this book. I'm sorry if you find that harsh but I couldn't get even halfway through it because it was far too ridiculous and childish for my taste, and I was real excited to read it to begin with, so to say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

one of the best books i have ever read!

one of the best books i have ever read!

Super easy read. Probably closer to a 3.5-3.75 but good story. It definitely caught me off guard and was fun to watch the relationship play out. Interested to see what the rest of the series does.

This was a mix for me. I loved the story, but some of it felt really forced, like J having casual hookups in college. It didn't seem to fit the girl I created in my head. That could just be me, though!

Something that I found to be not my taste, but at the same time so creative, was writing in the perspective of J at various ages and having the writing style match her maturity. Like when J was in elementary school, it was a little hard for me to read at times because of how simple it was, but that was the point! As the story went in and J got older, her voice matured as well. I think it's a really creative way to tell the story, but it was a struggle for me in the beginning.

By the end, I loved all the characters and definitely see myself diving into the rest of the series. I just didn't love it enough to push my TBR to the side.

This was such a cute book to read (and re-read again and again). It has it's ups and downs for JJ with Danny and Phillip but in the end you're rooting for that HEA.

hopeful lighthearted relaxing medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

They say that only good girls write diaries, wild girls do not have time to do so. This is NOT the case! JJ is a strong, determined, funny girl who faces life head-on. The relationships with the other two protagonists are sincere and the ending, while not predictable, could not be otherwise.

comfort read

I think this book was just okay overall. I don’t have any opinions that stick out to me. Except that this is like a movie and I would love for my life to be like hers. But other than that, I don’t really think I’ll ever think about this. The writing was different. It was like all her internal dialogue, which was okay, it made the book easy to read and quick to get through. But she didn’t really seem to mature in terms of her inner dialogue. If it was written normally I might have enjoyed it more. Also, she was just kind of a pick me.

I knows there’s like 5 other books to this series, but they don’t really interest me. I wouldn’t choose to spend time reading them. I think this book has a good, happily ever after ending and I’m okay with stopping at that. 3.5 stars
