thought it would be fun and lighthearted. and it WAS. until the author decided, "lets go nicholas sparks/sara desson on this bitch" and COMPLETELY changed the tone of the story. i just skipped to the end to see if i was right about who she ended up with (and i was. holla back sucka). overall, a bit disappointed because the sudden change wasn't done well and the rest of the story dragged. got about 60% before i gave up.
meh.

Great use of tropes. I actually enjoyed the writing even though it’s cheesy. Lots of problematic parts like a background character got taken advantage of when she was drunk, JJ says she was “incomplete” before being with [spoiler], and a lot of cheating while the characters are seeing other people. And they keep treating JJ like a piece of meat wtf is that.

Really cute young adult book
I thoroughly enjoyed watched JJ come full circle growing up from grade school through college and beyond. I will say that there aren't love triangles in this book which I really appreciated. This book definitely had me doing the ugly cry for a good chapter - I ran out of tissues at my house. The book for me started out slow because of the age (grade school), but I am glad I kept with it because it added to the story.

I was initially put off this book for 2 reasons: 1. the cover and 2. I don't really like love triangles. I decided to give it a try tho and am glad I did. The characters were all very well developed and the story was original. The typical issues that arise when a love triangle is involved were avoided and I liked how we got too see everyone grow up.
This was such a cute story...nothing with angst, but it made me nervous reading some parts, because I was never sure if JJ was going to get her life together. I totally loved JJ, Phil and Danny relationship. The were great together. I loved Lori too she was a great addition. I'm happy that it worked out the way it did. I may read the next one, but I happy with how this one ended.
Nothing profound but I had a really fun time reading it. I would recommed it to anyone who just wants a happy-feel cheesy romance book. I will definitely be pickingup the secocond book.

this book is great. i recently read Spy girl by the same author and I have to admit I am loving her stories. i usually really don't like friends to lovers kind of books. well, this one was actually the first one I really enjoyed.
