Overall it was a good friend to lovers book. I really enjoyed the MC, which is saying a lot because I am very picky when it comes to female MC's. I loved the friendship dynamics, and how the MC was not the typical cliche young female. She is a little wild and reckless and has two best friends that always stand by her side. JJ experiences lust, love, and loss and we watch her battle through it. She isn't perfect and has her own flaws that I've seen in myself growing up. It was nice to be able to relate to such a character. The book took me back to my high school days and all my friendships and mistakes I made with it. I wish I had Phillip and Danny growing up. I'm excited to continue their journey in the following books in the series.

Wasn't a huge fan of how it was written in a diary type way because it would go on huge rants of a pointless topic and I would end up just scanning over pages at a time. The main character also seemed very immature and I didn't really see her grow from her young self of her present self.

Overall I thought this book was good. I feel like it was a little long but interesting enough to keep my attention through it all. The MC, JJ was kind of annoying at times, actually most of the time. But I loved Phillip and kept reading for him.

This book is freaking adorable. I didn't think I would love it after the juvenile beginning, but I wound but really enjoying each stage of JJ's adolescence and her relationship with the boys. This book is pretty PG, so it probably appeals to a wider audience than some of the steamer books I like to read

Did not like the main character one bit. She seemed like a brat and after everything that that poor boy did for her and she reacted that way? I also didn’t like how it was written. It was hard to read. Story had potential but it was a bit over the place.

GOD THIS BOOK IS THE MOST PATHETIC THING EVER. PEOPLE STILL LIKE IT SOMEHOW. SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE IT EASY. HOW THE HELL DO THESE BOOKS GET PUBLISHED WHEN J.K. ROWLING WAS REJECTED 12 TIMES WITH HER MASTERPIECE HP?

The book stars 3 pathetic losers, the biggest of them being the so-called tomboy (yeah right), our main protagonist JJ. At first she's in 3rd grade and her stupidity makes sense, but it can't be forgiven when she doesn't change much, even after graduation.

SPOILERS AHEAD. But I'm doing a charity for the society here. Run while you still can.

Everything about this book is stupid. First there's lot of contradiction showing the author wasn't sure how to present her characters. JJ is at first shown as a tomboy, but then pretty soon is, as she likes to call it, a flirt. When did that happen? Then she's kissing Danny and can't leave him for a second. Pretty soon though, Danny is dating another girl and JJ seems totally chill with that fact. Danny gets married to this girlfriend and JJ has no emotion towards it whatsoever. This marriage of Danny is another problem all together since Danny's a playboy at the beginning of the book. All of a sudden he's madly in love with this girl he met in college. They even get married right after graduation, and then BAM!...the wife's now expecting. There was no indication of Danny growing up by the way. It just happened. I guess we are just supposed to go with it.

Then there's this other loser Philip who calls JJ princess (Creepy much?) but is always dating other people. Then all of a sudden wants to get JJ and proposes on their first date. Plain weird.

JJ is the most annoyingly bullshit character ever made in the history of literature (Assuming this piece of junk can be considered that, ahem). Her parents get in a car accident when her mom's already dead and dad's barely hanging there. Instead of mulling over her life, she is still worrying about "OMG me and Philip had a fight what if he doesn't talk to me anymore what would I do all alone?" and "Danny just kissed me was it to make Jake jealous only or did it mean something? What's happening at the party now?"

Just plain pathetic. Worst book ever. EVER I'm utterly baffled over its popularity. Are they, by any chance, reading another book?

Decent story, liked it well enough to go buy the second one. Not a fan of the way the story is told, and the character is a bit shallow, but the one REALLY emotional scene was written like I was there living and and actually made me nearly cry. Me. The girl that doesn't cry, that didn't cry at her own grandmother's funeral, teared up.
