This was an ARC from NetGalley. That being said, this book is in need of some heavy editing. The typos and formatting errors made it very hard to get through this book. Then moving on to the plot, it felt far too long for the story being told. The plot twist happened in the middle of the story, and was very difficult to but into. It It didn't feel unique or believable. There needed to be more revisiting the first half, and applying the new point of view. Instead, it felt like two different stories. This needs a lot of work to be memorable to its audience.
I am a huge fan of Hannah Mary McKinnon so I couldn’t wait to read this book. The story follows Vienna and Madison. Some chapters are told in the past and we learn about their story and how they became friends and then we have the current timeline which consists of their band The Bittersweet. The band is driving in the Catskills when they have an accident. The five women are able to take shelter in an abandoned cabin. However, Vienna is the only one that survives the night. Three of the girls have died, and Madison has disappeared. What happened? I loved learning about Madison and Vienna’s toxic friendship as teens in the past chapters. This thriller had me second-guessing many times what I thought I knew. And then again we are delivered a shocking twist at the end. I loved this book! Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the advanced reader copy.
Suspending disbelief is not enough to make this make sense.

This book was recommended as a thriller, but it is slow and predictable. Not worth the read.

The young all-female rock band called Bittersweet were headed to their next event, but they were driving in a terrible blizzard. Weather conditions were horrid and they became involved in a devastating car accident that left one of the girls dead, another severely injured, and one missing.
Due to an eerie series of events, the remaining survivors of the accident seemed to find safety in a dilapidated cabin near where the accident took place. However, the horrors they already experienced were only the beginning. Whether it is the frigid weather conditions, or the fact that there is not much in the way of warmth and supplies in the cabin, the survivors of the car accident are in for the ride of their lives.
Meanwhile, there is history that defines some of the relationships among the girls. With Vienna from a troubled household and Madison from a privileged one, their lives couldn’t have been more different. Sadly, I could relate to Vienna in more ways than one. Madison was quite relatable in her ways as well. With tension from the very start, and never once letting up, Only One Survives is an impeccable thriller.
Many thanks to MIRA and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Overall - 4.5/5! Thanks again to NetGalley for this ARC! Man this book dragged me in. It was written really well and had a bunch of great plot twists I did not expect. I have a read a previous book by Hannah Mary McKinnon earlier this year (Revenge List) - this book was far superior!!
If you are looking for a solid thriller with several plot twists that I thought were pretty shocking - you’ve found it! I also feel like unfortunately some thrillers often follow the same type of plot or plot line - but I felt like this story was relatively unique and new, I don’t think I’ve read a book similar! I would definitely add this to your TBR!
