We read Rafaelo and Michele’s childhood in The Prodigal Son. In this installment, The Sins of Noelle, we read about her childhood and how she was raised that really molded her into who she is today.
This entire series is dark and heavy. It’s a bit disturbing with how Noelle’s family failed her over and over again.
“Her family had finally done it. They'd finally managed to push her off the cliff, letting her fall into the merciless abyss.”
Most of the story is in Noelle’s POV. From her early childhood up to where she was forced to marry at the Hacienda … and how she became La Diabla.
We all thought she was a victim.
And she was up to a point….
But y’all. You’re not ready to see what really went down.
Noelle is a multilayered character. I still can’t figure out whether I hate her or admire her.
She’s extremely intelligent but also nuts. Lol.
The book does go to present time a few times.
When she is with Raf.
He still doesn’t know what to think of her.
And he’s determined to find answers on what happened to him at the Hacienda and figure out how deep Noelle was involved in his misery.
“Show me who you are, Noelle. Who you really are. And maybe along the way I'll find out who I am, too… When everything isn't perfectly tied with a bow; when we're clawing our way out of the gutter, who are we? Who the hell are we?”
This book leaves off with the story completely unfinished. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a cliffhanger, but it leaves off where we still don’t know what Noel‘s involvement was with Rafaelo. And I’m on pins and needles to find out the rest of the story! Omg!

*Spoilers are possible. Please read at your discretion.
After the ending we had in The Counterfeit Lover, we knew that Rafe and Noelle were off to a rocky start. Rafe's distrust in Noelle was completely understandable. We also get a deep view into Noelle's past from her childhood to her time at the hacienda.
We are shown how much Noelle really suffered at the hands of other people with no way out, and it really is so heartbreaking to read

90% of the book was flashbacks, and i wanted much more of the present.
The previous book essentially had two cliffhangers. This book takes off from one of those cliffies and then delves into Noelles' backstory and her obsession with Raf, so there is no Michele in this book. I can not express how much I love this series, and although we get answers to questions and mysteries raised in the previous books, there are so many more secrets unearthed. The plot is so intense and twisted that I can't wait to get to the end and discover everything that happened. It's a great story yet again, and I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment. I also really hope that in the future, we get to know Cisco and Yuyu's story.
