It just wasn’t capturing my attention or interest. I love Allende’s books for adults but this didn’t make the pivot into YA successfully for me as an audience member.

Ya me lo leí hace tiempo pero tengo ganas de volver a leerlo.

Had to read this one for school a couple of years ago. All I remember is thinking the main character was ridiculously dumb, and giving up when they found the beasts: it was just too much for me.
