I'm embarrassed to say that I read this. I've never read a romance novel before (and fuck you, Sparks, for thinking your trite is anything
more than that) and although I went into it pretty much knowing it wouldn't be for me, I almost hoped I would be surprised. No such luck. As others have said, the characters were totally unbelievable and corny. I'm also fairly certain Sparks is a sadist. I'm very wary of anyone who makes millions on the tears of fellow humans.

I am officially out of my Nicholas Sparks rut with this book. Loved the setting of Rodanthe. Loved the romance. My favorite scene is the one between Adrienne and her father on page 186.
A beautiful story of understanding, love, insecurity and assurance, strength, and all from a mature perspective and not simply a YA romance. An unassuming pair find themselves stuck together during hurricane season with a storm coming in. Both have baggage and history, but also nothing to lose and all to gain. This story will give you an emotional ride!

This was such a sweet book. Although, it was very simple; almost too simple. The storyline was sweet and all, but it didn’t really wow me. I probably wouldn’t read it again.
