this book was definitely a 4.5 stars!

I really enjoyed how the foundation for this series was set up, and I loved the writing. But, this didn’t give me that feeling where I never wanted it to end, where I was rereading scenes, where I was falling 100% in love with the characters (but i did definitely really enjoy them)

I have a feeling the 2nd or 3rd book will definitely be a 5 star read for me

I enjoyed reading this, but I’ll admit that I wished I liked it more than I did. I definitely had some trouble getting around a lot of elements that just felt silly, and a lot of the events that happened felt both too loosely motivated and too quickly resolved. 

I understand that the audience and age group that this book was written for probably can appreciate the episodic nature of some of the chapters and lighthearted treatment of things. Moreso than I did. 

All that said… I did overall enjoy my time and will be continuing the series.
