Overall, I enjoyed this series! Some of the themes were more dub/non con than I would’ve preferred. It’s a fantasy erotic novel and that’s the best descriptor for it. I grew attached to Vald and Havi’s relationship as it grew and I was rooting for them by the end.

This mangaka also created Finder and I enjoyed this one a lot more than that series.

Title: Crimson Spell Vol. 6 by Ayano Yamane

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, LGBT

Rating: 5 Stars

Volume 6 is completely action packed from the very first page and the cliff-hanger ending had me dying for the next volume. After escaping from the space time realm, Havi thinks that Rimris and Astador are the ones who placed the curse on the sword that Vald uses but whether or not Rimris was a willing participant in this is yet to be seen. The people of the city are still under the control of the high priestess who is being controlled by a demon but they can’t attack the people since they are still human.

During these small battles, Astador arrives and kidnaps Vald again but without the intention of letting him go this time since he now knows that Vald’s body is strong enough to become the vessel it needs to be for the demon within. Vald refuses all of Astador’s advances so he expels the human half of Vald from the body allowing the demon to completely take it over. However, the demon also cares for Havi and rejects Astador so he beings to torture the demon increasing its anger and his control over it but help is on the way.

Ruruka has figured out where Vald is being held and rushed to help his friend, he finds the human half of Vald, transparent and waiting as he explains the situation. In order to return Vald to his body he needs to retrieve it from Astador’s control but he won’t be powerful enough alone. Havi has had his magic sealed and can’t even fight the demons bearing down on them until his master arrives. Now Vald is being targeted by Astador time is running out for Havi to save him especially since the demon under Astador’s control has turned on Ruruka and if it kills him it will crush Vald.
