LOVE. This book had me distressed and played with my emotions so much. Did i cry? Maybe. The HEA was worth it though. I really liked the writing, spice was there but didn’t drown out the plot, and the characters were relatable/enjoyable/consistent. My heart is so full for these two and everything they went through. There was just one thing in the plot that I wasn’t a fan of but overall really really liked this book.
Wow. Marley Valentine has once again blown me away with her stellar storytelling. This complex, intricately woven tale of Gael and Jordan had me experiencing every emotion there is. I was fully invested in the character arcs of both main characters and rooting for their happiness throughout.
I was so captivated by Gael and Jordan. So captured by their words, and their story, I couldn’t put it down. I was completely caught up by their heart wrenching yet beautiful love story. These two are so beautiful and your heart aches for these men and the love they have but hide. There is never a question of whether or not they want to be together or if they love each other. The question is how they make it work with the circumstances of life and emotional baggage they each carry. Their each have their own journey to navigate as well as the one they take together. And the reader is taken along with them each step of the way. Everything about this book from the writing to the characters to the prose. All of it. It’s mesmerising. The feelings it pulls from you and the heartfelt moments that you experience – there is just no justice when it comes to explaining it. I know my words could never do it justice anyway.
There is so much heart in this story. Gael and Jordan’s journey is a very turbulent story, filled to the brim with heartbreak and longing, yet also an incredible amount of tenderness and love. Marley Valentine is such a master at telling these stories. I just marvel at how wholly complex and intricate they are. It's not just the telling of a story, it is the complete weaving of the thoughts and feelings of the characters throughout that keep me so captivated and living in the moment of the story. I get lost in her books and I emotionally feel what these characters are going through every single time. Ache was so beautifully done, a gripping and highly emotional story. Words cannot convey how much I truly loved this book.

Gael and Jordan were basically the same person. I kept having to check the chapter titles to see which pov I was reading. I think this novel would have been much more successful if the author had only chosen one pov. We didn't need Elena's pov either.
This book just wasn't for me, I guess.

No one does M/M romance like Marley Valentine! Her talent with words that form beautiful stories about characters who have so much passion and emotion is bar none. I have yet to be disappointed by reading her books.
Gael and Jordan have been friends since forever. When Jordan's family threw him out of the house for coming out as gay, Gael's family welcomed him with open arms. They loved and nurtured him as one of their own. And while they've been the butt of jokes as a couple, Gael has never given an inkling that he felt anything but friendship kind of love with Jordan save one kiss they shared many moons ago. A trip to Vegas to celebrate Gael's impending nuptials to Elena changes his and Jordan's future. But before they can go home and move forward to end one relationship and begin theirs, a horrific accident almost takes Gael's life. And now Gael can't remember what recently happened between Jordan and himself. Jordan is willing to let things go until Elena finds the list Gael and Jordan wrote and then it's anyone's guess what will happen when Jordan finally fills in the blanks for Gael.
The book seriously packed an emotional punch. The heartache and the pain was so palpable. I could feel the tension and the anger, the helplessness and the resignation. I could feel the love and sense of family. I so loved how Deacon and Julian were also featured in this story. It was like catching up with old friends.
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

There's nothing wrong with it, per say, just...very safe, very same-y, and not my cup of tea.
