This just was not doing it for me. The only way for me to describe it is forgettable. I thoroughly struggled to finish it; I cant leave a book unfinished, but boy was this hard.
I sympathize with the events:loss of a loved one, abusive parents, AIDS, and sexual orientation. Yet, it all fell flat with the characters themselves. There were very few times where I felt any emotion other than boredom while reading.

This is exactly my kind book. Tin Man is a quiet story that is character driven and incredibly moving. It covers a lot of big topics like love, loss, grief, and identity in such a beautiful way and left me with an ache in my chest.
