Beautifully written, rambling prose and imagery that immerse you in the time, place and people while at the same time leading you to reflect on your own memories and feelings towards past, present and future. Such a gem of a book!

DID NOT FINISH: 18%
There was very little dialog a whole lot of description. I need the pace to move along, and I do like some description of the sounding and the people, it was a bit too much for me.

A coming of age story set in a left behind village in Ireland. Williams majes it sound like a idyll, which is not realistic, but enjoyable. I liked the characters best. He writes very well.
