I enjoyed the book, it was fast paced, interesting, well-written and easy to read. I didn't give it a higher rating because I found it a tad superficial and juvenile. I would categorize it as young adult and would probably have liked it more if I had read it when it was published. There's a sequel but the ending here is closed and I don't feel the need to continue the story.

I love a story of how magic would really transpire in the real world. The dark realities that would really occur are such a breath of fresh air from the saccharin fairy tales. Can't wait for #2.

I liked the story line but it felt rushed. The author didn’t give the story the time to truly develop, which reflects why I think the action scenes became increasingly lackluster.

I don't know what to think about this book. It was cool and a little bit boring at the same time. All the talk about turning and it was not that big... I don't think I will be reading the sequel. Still enjoyed it though.

4.5 This book could have benefit by an extra 100 pages. Otherwise, great concept and characters!
