Read this in three sittings. It was really interesting to learn about how they did the special effects. I liked how the actors and crew contributed to the book, participating in interviews. My favorite parts were about Bellatrix and Umbridge. The pictures of the shooting were phenomenal. I thought it was a little sad to read about actors that are now dead saying things about the shooting

This book takes readers on an inside guided tour of all eight Harry Potter films. The inside information provided in this book is perfect, not only for the true HP fans, but to those who love film as well. This book took readers through how certain scenes were shot, how the actors, not only felt about one another, but how they felt about shooting different scenes, and how the directors, writers and crew members felt about the movies, which was definitely fun to read. It’s always interesting to get inside these creative minds to see how things that were once just written words come to life before our eyes. The order in which this book was told was well done. Predominantly told in the order of the films, peppered between those pages were also filled with actors who played the characters. This book had so much colour, photos and design that it’s clear the graphic artists from the movie helped to put this all together because it’s well thought out and thorough, much like the props and such seen in the films. This will definitely give HP fans all the feels and make them want to reminisce on all the magic one more time.

Have you ever wondered how muggles make wizardry in the Harry Potter films?
Well, this book has an great insight on the special effects of the Harry Potter movies, explanations on how each movie was filmed and how the ideas came to the muggles who created the film series. It was was very informative and had lots of pictures of ‘before-and-after’ with captions. There were some pages that were just about one actor/actress and how they felt playing the role and some pages had bits that were about an actor/actress looking back at a funny/embarrassing/ memorable moment.
Overall, an interesting book with good explanations and pictures of the Harry Potter set.

Harry Potter: Film Wizardry is a stunning coffee table book. I started ogling it on my first visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour - where its pullouts are assembled and displayed in full glory - treated myself to it on my second visit, and finally read it after my third. It chronicles the behind-the-scenes process of recreating the locations, characters, creatures and props from the books to the big screen, and is a visual feast in the process.

The biggest draw for me was the array of pullouts - replicas of everything from Harry's first Hogwarts letter to the Marauders Map, Honeydukes packaging and a Weasley's Wizard Wheezes catalogue. I'm now longing for a display cabinet to arrange them all in (although fighting the Madam Pince-esque voice insisting that removing the pullouts is vandalism!)

The arrangement of images and text is spot on, as is only to be expected given that the layout was designed by the same Minalima team who provided graphic design for the films. New tidbits and treats burst out of every page. I lost count of the number of times I interrupted friends and family with 'did you know this obscure fact? How about this? Or this?'

The only let-down is the lack of completeness. I believe the book was originally published before Deathly Hallows completed filming, and was later revised and expanded to include a few pages on the last film. Sadly, these pages feel rushed and repetitive, and the text is drier and less interesting than the rest of the book.

Overall though, Harry Potter: Film Wizardry is a beautiful book, and a brilliant addition to any Harry Potter collection.

It took my quite a while to get through this just because you have to spend so long on each page to be able to take it all in. It was incredible and has let me find out so much more about the Harry Potter films. I now have an even greater respect for the filmmakers than I already did. Every HP fan needs to own this book.

This book was pretty cool, with all the details to the building of the sets and the characters. Also I enjoyed the notes from the producers and actors in it.
It is a really great book with a lot of information in it, I recommend it to every Harry Potter fan.

I enjoyed looking at the vibrant pictures. I also enjoyed reading the words organizationally scattered on the page, some be interviews, some experiences and some are thoughts preserved on such a beautiful work of literary art. I only borrowed this from my cousin. I wish I had this. I really do.
