slow-paced

Ok, perhaps 4 hours too long. Definitely in that dark, taboo category. MMC is not just morally grey more like a black mist.

I haven't felt this creeped out since reading Haunting Adeline, except without all the murder. Greyson is demented, but that only makes Violet worse for liking it. She is accepting of things way too quickly. Maybe that's me being too close-minded because we come to expect it more from men

This book definitely lives up to the first word in the title: brutal. That's how it felt reading this book. There was a lot of bullying (both physical and mental, including rape in my eyes), and I'm pretty sure I was grimacing the entire time I was reading.

the audiobook was the only reason i finished this series. The love seems like it came out of no where after some intense bullying. The mmc had no redemption arc.  the fmc was just gullible and a slut tbh.

This follows Greyson and Violet who start of as enemies. He hurts her badly and gets away with it but then decides that she's the villian when in reality, she suffers more then either of them. However, he does change his tune pretty quick and I like the ending. I read this after the 2nd book which mwand that the impression I got of steel in this book was completely different then his main book. Enjoyed it though
