“You better hope God is on your side.” I lean in, making sure he can see just how fucking dark I’ll go. “Because the Devil’s on mine.”
Let me start with PLEASE check the triggers before reading this book.
Now that I've said that - I inhaled this book. Yes, some parts literally made my skin crawl (the locker room scene and I am not a fan of knife play), but the rest of this book? I loved it. The growth and development of Grey and Vi was beautiful, how they wanted to ruin each others lives slowly became that they can't live without being in each others lives.
I appreciate that S. Massery wrote the characters morally grey, how they both had their flaws, but that we got a look into why they were like that and that they loved each other black hearts and all.
Also, I think I jumped into the deep end with dark romance. My first two DR books were Rina Kent and now this one. Do I regret these decisions? Not in the slightest.

It was one of those books I couldn’t put down but honestly? I don’t think hockey or college dark romance is for me, so that could be my problem.

Greyson is morally gray and possibly soulless black. He’s the reason she had to give up dancing but he’s holding a grudge against her for it and is determined to break her even farther. But he’s also attracted to her and that’s not in his plan. But she has a stalker and he doesn’t want anyone else playing with what’s his. So many red flags and I was here for it.
dark
This is a true bully romance so if that’s something that triggers you, don’t read!
Overall, this was well written and had a really good plot. Some incidents were a little forced and it could have been a little shorter. But ultimately, I liked Greyson as a character and his pursuit of Violet translated well. I enjoyed the writing style really look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Lots of good spice!
