Honestly, unsure. It wasn’t great, but I was along for the ride. It felt like you kept waiting for it to blow your mind, and then it just fell off. But strong lead up to disappointment. And like interesting story world.

Speechless -slight spoilers

Ok so first things first my emotions just went through a rollercoaster of a ride. I was peeved off at the beginning of this book but I couldn't stop reading. Every time I got to a plot twist I looked at how far I was in the book and realized that it wasn't the climax (in more ways than one). I do see it being a little choppy and not flowing perfectly but i was still able to continue. This book had some good suspense (which fell flat once in my opinion) but I was definitely on the edge of my seat. I read this in one day so I hope that says something as well. Ok please read the trigger warnings before reading this book, the warnings for consent and assault are very real in this book (+more). Overall I enjoyed it and will definitely be reading the next book.

Spice level -

I don't think I'm meant for bully romances - I'm far too empathetic.

Needless to say, these two absolutely deserve each other, they are both so morally grey that they look like a pair of storm clouds.

I got so excited when I found a rec for a dark hockey romance. I love dark romance, and I love hockey romance. But most hockey romance books are more romcom style, so I was pumped for something different.

This book was not it. AT ALL. Honestly, I hate to trash books, I'm a firm believer in not all books are for everyone and it's not fair to yuck someone else's yum, but this book, I'm sorry it was just horrid.

First off it starts as a very intense bully romance. Our MMC basically drives drunk and hits our FMC. She was a ballerina training with hopes of becoming a prima ballerina. The crash ruins her leg and doctors state she'll never dance again. Our MMC's dad is a massive senator and buries the incident so his son avoids jail time or responsibility. They end up at the same college and our MMC wants to ruin the FMC for ruining his life. Uhm excuse me, she didn't ruin shit. He ruined her life and now he wants to punish her even though he has suffered basically no consequences?

And everything he does is straight abuse. He sexually assaults her, makes her give his friend a BJ, then blames her cause his friend liked it. He humiliates her over and over. And she just takes it. She never fights back, never seeks revenge. Just takes it. And then all of a sudden they're falling for each other. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

Our FMC has no backbone. No sense of self preservation of anything. And she basically is abused the entire book and then gets like Stockholm syndrome and is in love with the MMC. It's just obnoxious.

The MMC is a chauvinistic pig. He thinks abuse is love. But then like randomly 3/4 thru the book they're in love and in this romantic relationship. He never atones or takes responsibility for his actions or behaviors. And he never suffers any consequences.

Also there is mention and hints that our FMC has issues with food and has a history with eating disorders. And if alludes to the fact she is falling into those habits again when she starts retraining in ballet. Her best friend notices but no one does anything and the plot point kinda just falls away. I hated that. Eating disorders are not to be joked with and I really didn't like that it was alluded she had one and then like never resolved and no one helped her.

The book then does a massive change to like a stalker thriller towards the end? It's just confusing. And then of course it ends on this happily ever after where she becomes a famous ballerina and him an nhl hockey player.

I just, I didn't like it. I like dark romances. I'm not against taboo topics and have read bully romances before that I enjoyed. But this just wasn't it. It was just basically straight abuse, the MMC hates the FMC for literally no reason, that then all of a sudden changes to some romantic story. No character growth or development. I was disappointed.

I haven’t stopped thinking about this book for a week and idk what that says about me. Yes it’s unhinged, yes Grey is an anti-hero and idk why he did some of the things he did…but it’s now engrained in my noggin

So much kinkier/darker/crazier than I thought it was going to be! Grey goes from the biggest asshole to top tier book bf. It was a good time & im excited for the next book!

4 ⭐️ 3.5

violet has a successful prima ballerina career in front of her until she gets hits by a car and damages her leg and her career before it has even begun.
the driver of the car that hits her just so happens to be greyson, the cocky, entitled hockey player.
& because of his last name, grey is able to walk away with only a slap on the wrist.
grey and violet end up going to the same school university and grey has his sights set on destroying her further.
greyson was so honestly so toxic and DOES NOT grovel but he someone won me over.
I loved the chemistry between them & somehow I found parts of this to be so sweet. lol
the spice was phenomenal too!

I already know this series is going to have a chokehold on me, but i’m not mad at it.

mixed emotions

This may be one of the darkest books I’ve ever read. I struggled in the beginning and almost put it down a few times. I was able to come to terms with some of the situations but I still don’t really understand how she could love him. I also hate that she never even tried to fight back. She just rolled with all the depraved things he put her through and kept coming back for more. I’m not sure how we get from their first encounter to a HEA.

First of all this book left me with a migraine

Greyson was absolutely horrible like I’ve read some brutal dark romance yet he takes the cake for absolute worst mmc. That d messed with violets head badddd

HE HIT HER WITH HIS CAR THEN TRIES TO RUIN HER LIFE?!!!?!!!!!!!

First Sports Romance

This was my first sports romance and I absolutely loved it!! Greyson drove me absolutely crazy in the beginning but I definitely ended up loving him! Spice
