A good mystery with satisfying twists and turns, as well as some nice character development.

I love Peter May, I could read his books forever. My first foray into his French series left me wanting more.

Frustrating. I wanted to like it. May's got wonderful style. Story's a dud. I see from other reviews that his other books are good. I'll give him another go.

I started listening to this audiobook on a long drive, thinking it might help pass the time. Usually I have a hard time maintaining focus on audiobooks, especially when driving, as my mind tends to wander. That wasn't a problem with this book, though. My mind was engaged the whole time, to the point that I was almost disappointed when I reached my destination before the book was over! I will definitely read and/or listen to other books by Peter May in the future!

To win a bet Enzo Macleod has to solve the 10 year old disappearance of a public figure. Set in France this is an interesting read and drags you in as he tries to piece together the few mysterious clues available. Enzo is not a police officer, nor a private detective, but he is intelligent and very capable of bringing together small and seemingly unrelated things.
There are two draw backs to this story. The use of French words that I have no understanding of and really are just a pain to have in the story. The other drawback to the story is the rather abrupt and predictable ending. I just didn't like the ending.
However, it's still worth a read.
