Overall, really enjoyed this. Heavy subject matter -- a lot of gun violence, abuse and trauma in these pages. At times, overwritten and circuitous.

I usually like to give memoirs 5 stars, but the writing style made that hard for me. I really learned a lot in the different stories she told…but I really didn’t like all the dictionary references and some parts were repetitive which just slowed the pace, but for me was more detractive than useful. I think writers and creative types would really like reading this book.
