this was a really great comfort rom-com. at the beginning, i wasn’t a giant fan of the main character, she seemed to me like she was going to be very annoying and full of herself, however after reading more you learn that that’s a part of a facade which really helps to add to her character development and makes you sympathize with her a lot.
i also enjoyed that the mc’s friends were very fleshed out characters and you got to see a little bit into their own storylines throughout the book.
i also loved the relationship between the mc and her love interest, jack. it had a ton of buildup and tension that led to a great relationship that didn’t seem like it just came out of nowhere.
the only thing i didn’t love was the conflict at the very end of the book. it seemed to me very pointless and as if it didn’t really need to be there.
that being said, i really did like this book and i would probably come to this as a comfort read again.

wow. I’m not sure if I’ve ever cried so much reading a romance novel? but also I’m very sick so I think that might be a key player here.
Okay, from the beginning I was loving it. Then, it was VERY slow moving in the romance aspect (and I mean V E R Y slow) and I was wondering if this was going to be a disappointing read after all. Especially when it did start hinting at romance it felt ABRUPT. I was CONCERNED because I felt it came out of nowhere. But then, it went back to being as it was before, very slow hahahah
But! I love this book! The characters all feel very real to me. Their issues feel real. The conflict feels real. I loved the friendship and found family aspect in this book probably more than anything else. But I loved it all!
I loved seeing Sadie face her fears and open up her own business…and then take it further and open up a STOREFRONT!
I loved the flower talk because I loved flowers.
I loved her supportive friends that encouraged her to get back in therapy when they could see her struggling. I loved watching Jack slowly (very, very slowly) open up. I loved how Sadie because his inspiration to paint again and they both brought so much joy to each other’s life.
The relationship between Nick and Harley made me so happy as well. And I loved the thanksgiving scenes.

Also I’m happy I loved this book bc now I can buy it and see this gorgeous cover on my shelves

This was a cute rom-com. I loved the premise, the friend dynamics (and all the text threads), and I loved Jack. I pictured him looking like an older version of the brother from Bring it On. 😂 I will say it was a little more crass than I prefer (I don’t mind some well-placed language but this one crosses a bit into TMI territory at times), and I had a bit of a hard time connecting with the main character for that reason. I did appreciate her character arc and the personal/emotional/professional journey she went on in addition to the romance.
