The first 90% I would’ve given this a solid 4 stars — not bad at all, but not my favorite. But oh my god the last 10% why is Sadie absolutely insufferable??? Girl shut the fuck up this is not the end of the world??? I’m realizing how much of a pick-me she was throughout the entire book like GIRL. I did like Jack but I feel that his character could have been more developed. I did also enjoy the side characters and the fact that they took Sadie aside to have an intervention because this girl needed it badly.

I'm currently slumping, but I did listen to it in a day so there's that.

The journey Sadie goes on from getting screwed over in her corporate job to finding something she really wants to do was real for me. I understand she has some past family trauma but we didn't really know why she is so self-deprecating until a bit too far in, so by that point it was a bit overdone.

I do love some forced proximity (they are strangers who move in together because NYC housing costs). Jack is a superb book boyfriend, really top notch and must be protected at all costs. I really kept reading for him because he's IT. I wanted to give him a big hug this whole book.

3/5 🌶️

Started off really promising but didn’t pull through by the end.

They kept mentioning Sadie’s past/her family but never really explained what happened, so this part was still a giant question mark by the end of the story. I thought it would be a significant part of the story, considering her last made her the way she is now (insecure, pushes people away, etc) so I expected more of a closure or growth in this regard.

Jack’s character had a lot of potential to be one of my faves in the beginning, but over time I felt that he became flatter and flatter. His backstory was at least more established than Sadie’s though.

In terms of plot, not very memorable and I didn’t find myself too invested in it.

I loved this one! This was such a beautiful, cute and quick read. I finished it in two days and found reading it very comforting. After Sadie got fired from her job in finances she finds her new roommate Jack, who is providing the perfect place for Sadie to follow her dream of a flower shop on her own.
I enjoyed all characters. I found them very relatable and incredibly supportive! They all had each other's backs and it made me so happy.
The romance was beautiful as well. The tension made me want to keep reading, seeing those two characters slowly fall in love with each other, while they respected boundaries and overall had a very beautiful and mature relationship. The amount of spice was just right for me. Since I usually don't read much romance I can't give you an exact spice rating, but it definitely was more than a closed door romance but also not overly spicy.
I also very much enjoyed Sadie's personality and her humour. I sometimes found myself relate to traits of both Sadie and Jack which made it even more enjoyable reading.
If you want to see a flower business and relationship bloom go give this one a read!
