The story itself isn't mind blowing but it doesn't need to be. It's cute and quick and a good beach reach.
I wish the side friends had had a tiny bit more depth to them but it's okay. There is also a part of me that wishes she had run into her old boss when she was successful in her new venture but that is totally not necessary and would most likely have felt very contrived so I am absolutely not holding it against the book.
Glad I bought this one on a whim.

Jack & Sadies relationship was everything!! Like Jack is perfection, he’s so sweet and the things he did for Sadie were so perfect 🥺 their relationship was fun to watch grow, it was definitely on the slow burn side which I enjoyed & I especially loved all of Sadies nicknames for Jack and Jacks for Sadie later on, they were cute & funny. Only thing I didn’t love was the conflict, I felt it happened to late in the story but it is what it is 🤷🏻♀️
I also really enjoyed the aspect of changing career paths later in life and the message that the was okay & even encouraged! Basically solid cute romance read, go read it!

Sadie thought she was getting a promotion that she wholeheartedly deserved in turn ended in disaster. She needed a night out with friends to get drunk and forget about the day. Sadie has only ever ever had one boyfriend and that was when she was a teen so she was looking to find a one night stand. What she thought was a swipe right match turns out was a match for a roommate. Jack definitely came across as too good to be true but I don't care, it was perfect for the book.
If you love a slowwww burn romance, this one is a good one! There was a brief moment during a Halloween party that made me swoooooon. Sadie's friends were just the best and it felt like I was reading about my friends at times. Including phone text conversations is always a welcomed addition while reading.
I would love to see a sequel even though there was no cliffhanger or anything but I just loved all the characters and want to see what happens next with them all.
