I hate to admit it but I'm one of those people who read the book after seeing the post regarding the Wuhan-virus in the novel. The novel itself is less about pandemics and more about a woman's journey to find answers regarding her son's death. It was fast paced and interesting but with a predictable romance and two dimensional characters. Readable but not memorable.
great writing style, fast paced, just felt like the ending was a bit rushed but this was enjoyable overall.
This is the book started my love of reading! Dean Koontz ties with J.R. Ward as my all time favorite author! This is a MUST read!

Childish plotline. The story is very predictable and the characters seem superficial. This was author's second book so we can give some flax to him. Overall an okay thriller

I’d only ever read one other Dean Koontz book in my life (too scary), but like everyone else I was curious about the Covid prediction. I assumed this would be an Andromeda Strain type story, but it was mostly a mom who would do anything to find the truth. The romance aspect was unexpected, but I didn’t hate it, even if it was completely unrealistic. I know this was one of his early books and he did tidy it up, but it was still a good story.
