I liked the plot but

if i have to hear about how her knees hurt one more time im gonna lose it, there’s other ways to show a character’s age than being like “ha ha knee pain😀” almost Every Time she talks

My favorite T. Kingfisher by far. I loved the the uniqueness of each character and enjoyed Cordelia's growth throughout the book as she overcomes her challenge.

A 4 star read that I highly recommend! The summary says it's a retelling of Grimm's " The Goose Girl," but I would actually say it has very little in common with the original fairytale. What it did make me think of is if you blended a regency era story (like Jane Austen) with horror, humor and the found family trope. While the protagonist of the book is a teen, T. Kingfisher has also included several delightful older main characters. And, best of all, they are present in the storyline as more than mere support for the teen protagonist! Each one of them is so well written that they could stand alone as the sole protagonist in their own book. I don't see that happen nearly enough in books. Kudos to Kingfisher for that solid choice!
